Has anyone heard of the Super Hostile challenge map series? They are a series of extremely challenging maps created by a man named Vechs. He also has a series called Race For Wool which is just that but in SMP which I'll come back to.
In Super Hostile you start off with little to no supplies and your goal is to get a steady supply of materials and complete the "victory monument" which is a monument with room for 16 or so different colours of wool and some gemstone blocks. You get the wool from different places, either hidden chests or dungeons. Some of the maps are more linear where you are in a more confined area (almost like a maze just more challenging and open) and some are more open (floating islands etc.) It's recommended for more advanced minecrafters.
Race For Wool is just this, but in a lane and for SMP. The meaning is for 2 different teams to get through the map, gathering resources and beating dungeons on the way and trying to gather all the wool before the other team.
My idea is that we put up the Race For Wool II: Direct Fire map on the server and organize an event where we meet some time, just like the survival island event just earlier seeing as me, drew and nath don't feel like staying up until 4am.
The rules are as following:
1) Find and complete the Victory Monument.
2) Find wool in chests scattered around the map, do NOT use dyes or spider string for wools!
3) You may craft the Iron, Gold, and Diamond blocks.
4) Use at least Easy difficulty, and never Peaceful.
5) Do not leave the boundaries of the map and go into normally generated Minecraft terrain.
6) Survive in any way you can think of. (Yes, you can mine, craft, and place blocks.)
7) You may use spider string wool and sheep wool to craft beds and other items, but not for the Victory Monument.
8) Stay inside your lane, entering the space between the lane of two teams is not allowed, although building inside it is allowed.
9) I hate you, die in a fire.
I would recommend you trying out the Super hostile #0: Hazardous Environment training and another SSP map before this to get ready.

Also, if possible, could I team up with Nath and Drew? We would work well together And please don't look at the RFW#2 map beforehand, I HAVE seen a few videos of it but mostly for background noise as I played minecraft on my own. Lastly we should use either a bukkit plugin for chatrooms or a 3rd party chat service or whatever (Steam, Skype Text Chat etc.) so the other team cannot see what you are planning to do
Who will participate in this? Post below:
